The IAM represents workers at Boeing's aircraft assembly facilities, specifically those in St. Louis, Missouri, St. Charles, Missouri, and Mascoutah, Illinois. These discussions have been ongoing for over a month amid the possibility of a strike.
District 837 is mainly comprised of employees involved in Boeing's defense division, which has its former headquarters in St. Louis. This region remains crucial to the division's operations and plays a significant role in supporting the United States Armed Forces.
The current contract between IAM District 837 and Boeing will expire on July 27, 2025. Workers are seeking pay raises and improvements to quality-of-life benefits to ensure that working at Boeing Defense, Space & Security is seen as a long-term career option.
