Delta Air Lines has been recognized as the top corporate blood drive sponsor by the American Red Cross for the eighth year in a row. The airline's employees, retirees, and customers contributed 16,178 units of blood in fiscal year 2025.

Blood donations are crucial, especially during summer when supplies run low. Delta expanded its program with community blood drives and partnerships with sports teams in cities like Atlanta, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, and Seattle. Additionally, Delta collaborated with historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) through the HBCU Ambassador program, sponsoring 137 blood drives at 38 HBCUs nationwide.

Chris Hrouda, President of Biomedical Services for the American Red Cross, expressed gratitude to Delta: "We are deeply grateful to Delta for its longstanding partnership as a blood drive sponsor." He highlighted the importance of committed partners during busy months when donations decline.

Delta organized 386 blood drives across 79 locations last year and added two new sites to support local communities. Tad Hutcheson, Managing Director – Community Engagement at Delta said: "Thank you to everyone who makes a difference by rolling up their sleeves to give blood."

Beyond donations, Delta supports the Red Cross as an Annual Disaster Giving Program member at the $1 million level. This partnership dates back to 1941 when Delta participated in WWII efforts.
