Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport has received three new Striker 8x8 Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) vehicles from Oshkosh Airport Products, a business of Oshkosh Corporation. This delivery enhances the airport's emergency response capabilities, supporting over 37 million passengers and more than 340,000 aircraft operations annually. The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), which owns and operates MSP, continues its partnership with Oshkosh Airport Products by maintaining a fully Oshkosh ARFF fleet.

Jack Bermingham, business unit director for Oshkosh Airport Products, stated, "Our team is proud to support MSP with the delivery of three advanced Striker 8x8 ARFF vehicles, which will provide exceptional firefighting performance for one of the country’s most critical transportation hubs." He emphasized the trust and performance built over decades with MAC.

MSP ranks as the 18th busiest airport in the United States for passenger volume and 21st for aircraft operations. Located between the Twin Cities and several suburban areas, it operates a single airfield with four runways and two terminal buildings. Its fire department includes 55 full-time firefighters who handle over 3,000 emergency calls yearly across various terrains.

The new Striker 8x8 vehicles feature twin Scania DC16 V8 engines, large water and foam tanks, advanced turret systems including a high-reach extendable turret called Snozzle, under-truck nozzles, an electronic foam proportioning system with ECO-EFP foam testing system, among other features. These capabilities are designed to meet MSP's operational demands effectively.

Bermingham added that these vehicles represent another step in MSP's investment in infrastructure and emergency services: "The delivery of these vehicles marks another milestone in MSP’s ongoing investments in infrastructure and emergency services."
