On July 12, T'Way Air, a South Korean budget airline, made its debut in Canada by landing at Vancouver International Airport. This marked the airline's first entry into North America. Previously, the closest destinations served by T'Way were Guam and Saipan.

The introduction of T'Way Air to Vancouver follows Hong Kong Airlines' reintroduction of service to the city. Hong Kong Airlines resumed flights in November 2024 after a hiatus since February 2020 and increased to daily operations by May 2025.

T’Way has launched a four-times-weekly year-round service from Seoul Incheon to Vancouver using the Airbus A330-300 with 347 seats. The aircraft includes 12 Business Saver Class seats and 335 economy seats but lacks entertainment systems. Passengers are advised to bring their own devices for entertainment during the flight. Despite being a low-cost carrier, T'Way includes food, carry-on luggage, and checked baggage in all fare categories.

The airline aims to offer lower fares and grow its market presence in Canada. However, current fares on T'Way's website start at over CAD$1,100 (USD$804), which is not highly competitive compared to other airlines like Air Canada and Korean Air that also operate nonstop flights on this route.

Data indicates that last year, Vancouver had around 2.4 million passengers traveling to or from Asia. Approximately half of these passengers traveled via hubs, indicating an underserved market for direct flights.

In addition to its new Canadian route, T'Way operates several long-haul routes avoiding Russian airspace due to geopolitical reasons. These include routes to European cities such as Paris and Barcelona.
