서울, 대한민국 - 페더럴 익스프레스 코퍼레이션(FedEx)은 미국 테네시주 멤피스에서 CJ올리브영과 한국과 미국 간 특송 및 물류 서비스에 대한 양해각서(MOU)를 체결했다고 발표했다. 이번 협약은 올리브영의 이커머스 주문 증가에 대응하고 글로벌 시장 확대를 지원하기 위한 것이다.
페덱스는 자사의 물류 네트워크를 활용하여 올리브영 글로벌 몰을 이용하는 미국 내 소비자들에게 더 빠르고 안정적인 배송 서비스를 제공할 계획이다. 이 협업은 페덱스의 지상 운송망과 통합 이커머스 솔루션을 통해 고객 경험을 향상시키는 데 중점을 두고 있다. 해당 솔루션에는 실시간 배송 추적, 맞춤형 배송 옵션, 사진으로 확인 가능한 배송 완료 기능 등이 포함된다.
한국의 대미 화장품 수출액이 지난해 17억100만 달러로 기록되며 프랑스를 제치고 1위를 차지한 가운데, K-뷰티 브랜드의 해외 확장을 위해 신뢰할 수 있는 물류 파트너 확보가 중요해지고 있다.
페덱스 코퍼레이션 질 브래넌 글로벌 영업총괄 부사장은 "올리브영의 미국 시장 확장을 지원하게 돼 매우 기쁘다"며 "자사의 글로벌 네트워크와 차별화된 솔루션을 통해 고객들이 공급망을 효율화할 수 있도록 지원하겠다"고 말했다.
페덱스 코리아 박원빈 지사장은 "올리브영과의 협력을 강화하게 되어 뜻깊게 생각한다"며 "국내 기업들과 전략적 협력을 확대해 나갈 계획"이라고 밝혔다.
