Landline, a Colorado-based operator offering bus services branded as flights, will terminate its collaboration with United Airlines. The partnership's conclusion affects routes between Denver International Airport and Northern Colorado Regional Airport on July 31, followed by Newark Liberty International Airport and Lehigh Valley International Airport on September 1.

Nicholas Johnson, Landline's vice president and head of revenue, explained the decision allows the company to "focus on other opportunities." A United spokesperson confirmed this direction but did not comment on whether another operator would replace Landline. However, United plans to introduce a third daily flight between Allentown and Chicago's O'Hare International Airport in August.

Recently, Landline announced service expansions. American Airlines is set to include Trenton-Mercer Airport in its network from Philadelphia International Airport in September. Additionally, Landline revealed an increase in independent bus service trips between Fort Collins and Denver airports starting August 1.

Since its launch in 2019, Landline has focused on providing bus connections for smaller cities within 200 miles of major hubs. Sun Country Airlines was its initial partner at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in late 2019, followed by United in early 2021 with services from Denver.

A notable challenge for Landline was that buses arrived landside at hubs like Denver and Minneapolis. This required travelers to clear security again at major airports. CEO David Sunde noted customer interest in airside-to-airside buses during a past interview.

In collaboration with American Airlines since 2023, Landline offers such services between Philadelphia and Atlantic City as well as Allentown. The partnership now includes five destinations after recent expansions.

Following the end of the partnership with United, Landline maintains relationships with Air Canada at Toronto Pearson International Airport; American Airlines at Philadelphia; and Sun Country at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Only the American Airlines connection offers airside service.

Travelers using partner airlines can earn points and status credits when booking through Landline buses.
