Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has announced a complete closure of Aviation Boulevard between Arbor Vitae Street and Century Boulevard from July 14 at 9 a.m. to July 21 at 6 a.m. Shuttle access to the LAX/Metro Transit Center will remain available during this period. The announcement was made on the social media platform X.

According to the official construction advisory published by LAX Airport, the closure is necessary to facilitate critical infrastructure and improvement projects in the airport area. This section of Aviation Boulevard is a major thoroughfare for both airport traffic and local commuters, often experiencing congestion during peak travel hours. The advisory recommends that travelers and local residents follow posted detour routes and prepare for additional travel time due to the impact of the closure.

As said in the construction alert shared by LAX Airport, all lanes between Arbor Vitae Street and Century Boulevard will be affected by the closure starting at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 14, continuing through 6 a.m. on Monday, July 21. Detour routes via Airport Boulevard and Arbor Vitae Street are indicated with signage to redirect drivers around the affected segment. The notice emphasizes that dates and times are subject to change depending on construction progress, advising motorists to consult official channels for updates during the closure period.

Despite the full closure, shuttle access to the LAX/Metro Transit Center will remain available to ensure continued public transportation connectivity for airport passengers and staff. According to LAX's announcement, signage will direct shuttle users to alternate routes and pick-up locations if necessary. Travelers are encouraged to allow extra time and monitor potential updates as work progresses.

According to its official website, Los Angeles International Airport is managed by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and serves as the primary airport for Los Angeles and Southern California, handling over 80 million passengers annually.
