Ethiopian Airlines has announced the launch of a new daily passenger service to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The inaugural ceremony was attended by senior airline, government, and UAE embassy officials. The announcement was made on the social media platform X.

According to Ethiopian Airlines' official statement on X, the introduction of daily flights to Abu Dhabi enhances the airline's service between Africa and the Middle East. Abu Dhabi is recognized as a central hub for commerce, culture, and tourism in the Gulf region, attracting travelers for both business and leisure. This route launch is part of Ethiopian Airlines' strategy to deepen regional partnerships and expand intercontinental travel options for African passengers.

The inaugural event took place at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel and featured attendance from several dignitaries including H.E. Lt.-Gen. Yilma Merdassa, Ethiopian Airlines Group Board Chairman; Mr. Mesfin Tasew, CEO; H.E Ambassador Dewano Kedir, Director General of Middle East, Asia and Pacific Affairs; Mr. Hamad Albadawi, Director of Visa Center; along with UAE embassy officials and delegates. The ceremony included cultural performances and remarks on the growing economic and diplomatic ties between Ethiopia and the UAE. Ethiopian Airlines emphasized that this new route's daily frequency is designed to meet strong demand from both business travelers and tourists, providing additional connectivity and flexibility for international journeys.
