Joby Aviation has expanded its facility in California, increasing its production capacity to 24 aircraft annually. The company celebrated the opening of a 435,500-square-foot plant at its Marina campus, supporting its commercial operations. The new facility complements Joby's testing site at Edwards Air Force Base and a manufacturing plant in Dayton, Ohio. The expansion will create hundreds of full-time jobs as Joby scales up aircraft production. Utilizing American innovation and advanced technologies like 3D printing, Joby aims to produce stronger and lighter parts.
Joby manages most aspects of its aircraft services internally to ensure quality and timely delivery. Toyota engineers are providing support with design, production, and specialized tooling construction as Joby prepares for full-rate production.
