Germany's largest leisure airline, Eurowings, is enhancing its in-flight experience with a range of new sensory elements. The airline aims to create memorable travel experiences for its over 20 million guests by introducing innovative features that engage passengers' senses from boarding to disembarking.

Clemens Strauss, Head of Customer Experience, Marketing & Sustainability at Eurowings, emphasized the importance of engaging guests beyond safety and comfort. "We don't just want our guests to feel safe and well looked after, we also want them to be truly engaged – with all their senses," he stated. He added that small details contribute significantly to creating tangible brand experiences.

One notable addition is the introduction of a signature fragrance named "Burgundy Breeze." Developed in collaboration with Cologne-based Scentcommunication, this fragrance combines sea salt, pink pepper, floral notes like water lily, and a warm base of wood and vetiver. It aims to provide a fresh cabin ambience reflective of the Eurowings brand.

In another move aimed at enhancing passenger experience, Eurowings will offer mint and fruit candies in corporate colors Burgundy or Sky Blue as parting gifts during disembarkation. These sweets come in fruity cassis or refreshing peppermint flavors.

Additionally, Eurowings has introduced sound branding on flights through atmospheric background music played during boarding and deboarding. This sound design was specifically developed for the airline's brand and includes compositions that evoke vacation vibes with sounds like nature or planes taking off mixed into an "Organic Electro" sound.

Eurowings' efforts are part of a broader strategy to focus on emotional quality in travel experiences. By appealing directly to passengers' senses, the airline seeks to differentiate itself from competitors and foster genuine customer loyalty. More initiatives are planned for the coming months to further enhance special moments throughout the travel journey.
