Air India has announced it will partially resume its international flight schedules starting August 1, 2025, with full service expected to return by October 1. The announcement was made on the social media platform X.

According to The Hindu BusinessLine, Air India is methodically rebuilding its global operations following privatization under the Tata Group, which was finalized in 2022. The phased return is designed to coordinate aircraft deliveries from Airbus and Boeing with crew training and regulatory clearances, ensuring operational resilience. BusinessLine highlights that such planning minimizes the risk of overextension and aligns capacity with recovering international travel demand.

The Times of India reports that from August 1, 2025, Air India will resume flights on key high-yield routes—Delhi–London, Mumbai–Dubai, and Delhi–Singapore—selected for their consistent load factors and cargo performance. These routes are being prioritized due to sustained business travel demand and strategic importance for trade and tourism. This initial phase is expected to immediately enhance connectivity and generate revenue momentum for the airline.

Mint states that effective October 1, 2025, Air India will fully reinstate its international network, including increased services to North America, Europe, and Australia. This expansion will coincide with the rollout of newly received Airbus A350 and Boeing 777 aircraft, which offer modern cabins and improved fuel efficiency. Mint emphasizes that this capability supports Air India's ambition to compete head-to-head with established global carriers on long-haul routes.

According to its official newsroom, Air India is India's national carrier operating under the Tata Group since its acquisition in 2022. The airline has invested in fleet modernization, cabin upgrades, and enhanced service protocols, including new training programs for crew and staff. These strategic initiatives aim to reposition Air India as a modern full-service airline with a strong global footprint capable of delivering competitive and reliable operations.
