The Boeing 737 MAX 8 is set to make a significant impact on U.S. air travel this August, with data showing that nearly 20 airlines will operate the aircraft across the country. According to Cirium Diio, Southwest Airlines leads with 62% of these services, utilizing its fleet of 274 aircraft.

In August, the MAX 8 will conduct approximately 2,130 daily movements within the U.S., accounting for one in every thirteen flights. The aircraft will be visible at 169 airports nationwide, with Denver, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Miami, and Chicago Midway being the most frequented locations.

The MAX 8 network comprises around 1,400 routes during this peak summer month. Of these routes, over 270 are international. However, less than 30% of them are served daily.

Among the top ten busiest airport pairs served by the MAX 8 in August is the route between Vancouver and San Francisco. Despite four airlines operating on this route, only 53% of services use the MAX 8. Other aircraft types like A319, A320, and CRJ900 are also employed.

Southwest Airlines operates seven to eight daily flights from Honolulu to Kahului using the MAX 8. This short route has seen a reduction in service by Southwest due to low load factors despite high passenger numbers.

Long-haul operations constitute a small portion of MAX's U.S. activities. Notably, Gol operates a long-haul service between Brasília and Orlando.
