D. Court Harris Chairman | Chicago Executive Airport

As Chairman of the Chicago Executive Airport Board for eight years, D. Court Harris played a significant role in the airport's growth and modernization. His leadership saw the update of the CEA Master Plan, focusing on sustainable development and generating self-sustaining revenue.

Under his guidance, the Sky Harbour development was initiated, marking the largest project in the airport's history. The airport also constructed a $3 million U.S. Customs facility to enhance its appeal to international travelers.

Harris emphasized community partnership as one of his top achievements. He expanded "Run the Runway," an annual 5K event, and extended partnerships with local business chambers.

Looking forward, Harris collaborated with Executive Director Jeff Miller and the CEA board on plans for a new airport headquarters and community center aimed at benefiting students and local groups.

Harris attributed much of his success to the support from the CEA board and local governments. "Without a doubt, the support from the Board and the support from the elected bodies really is the main reason for the success of the organization," he said.

Beyond his work at Chicago Executive Airport, Harris has been involved in various organizations such as Arlington Heights Police and Fire Commission, West Point Society of Chicago Board of Directors, St. Viator Alumni Association, and more.

As his term concludes in July, Harris leaves behind a legacy of leadership and service that strengthened community ties and prepared Chicago Executive Airport for future challenges.
