Raleigh-Durham International Airport | Official Website

Raleigh-Durham International Airport has experienced significant growth, adding 18 new destinations since February 2024. This expansion is part of the region's broader economic development. According to Cirium Diio data, several airlines have introduced or will soon introduce flights to these destinations.

Notably, almost half of these new routes are international. Airlines such as Aeromexico, Air Canada, BermudAir, Copa, Lufthansa, and WestJet have started operations at Raleigh-Durham. Except for Air Canada, these carriers are new additions to the airport's roster.

Currently, no further markets are scheduled for November and December. However, changes may occur as airlines adjust their winter schedules.

The list of new destinations does not include those that were announced but later canceled or routes that were launched but subsequently discontinued. For instance, Avelo planned a route to Nassau in March 2025 but canceled it before its first flight. Similarly, Frontier's service to Milwaukee began in May 2024 but ended by August due to low passenger numbers.

Ten of the newly added destinations had never been served directly from Raleigh-Durham before: Akron/Canton, Burlington, Calgary, Frankfurt, Key West, Grand Rapids, Mexico City, Ogdensburg, Panama City (Panama), and Vancouver. These routes represent a significant expansion in the airport's network.

Other destinations like Albany and Montego Bay had been served previously by different carriers at various times over the years.

The final addition for 2025 is set to be Key West with Breeze Airways starting on October 3rd. The service will operate twice weekly using an Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
