New York JFK Airport is set to experience a significant increase in flights to the Middle East this winter, with ten airlines offering up to 19 daily departures. This marks a record for the airport, which already leads the US in international travel and widebody aircraft operations.

Gulf Air is returning to New York after nearly 30 years, starting flights on October 1. Israir has also received permission to fly to the US, although no flights are scheduled yet.

The winter schedule includes Arkia's use of an Airbus A330-200 leased from GullivAir. Other airlines operating include Delta Air Lines, El Al, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Kuwait Airways, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, and Saudia. Turkish Airlines is excluded as its hub is located on the European side of Istanbul.

Emirates will be the only airline using the A380 at JFK this winter. Etihad has switched from using the A380 to the Airbus A350-1000 since June 2025.

For December 14th alone, there will be multiple departures to various destinations including Tel Aviv and Doha. El Al will have four departures that day due to limited flights on Fridays and Saturdays for religious reasons.

American Airlines had ceased its JFK-Middle East flights in 2023 due to regional conflict but previously operated routes such as Tel Aviv and Doha until late October of that year.

This increased activity at JFK highlights its role as a key international gateway in the United States.
