Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) ranks as the second busiest US airport for long-haul passenger flights, following New York JFK. It is also the tenth-busiest worldwide for such activities. This information is based on Cirium Diio data analysis of flights scheduled in the latter half of 2025.
LAX will host up to 197 daily long-haul movements, which include takeoffs and landings, serviced by nearly 50 operators. United Airlines leads with the most services but still accounts for less than one-tenth of all movements due to its San Francisco hub.
The longest flight from LAX is operated by Singapore Airlines to Singapore, with a maximum block time reaching 17 hours and 50 minutes during the northern winter season due to stronger headwinds. Other lengthy routes include Qatar Airways' Doha to Los Angeles service at 17 hours and 5 minutes and Saudia's Jeddah to Los Angeles route at 16 hours and 45 minutes.
