Boeing has extended a final contract offer to machinists in St. Louis, Missouri, represented by the International Association of Machinists (IAM). The workers, part of District 837, have been negotiating with Boeing for several weeks. The offer includes a 20% wage increase and a potential average wage growth of 40% when considering all benefits. The average wage for a machinist in District 837 is expected to rise to $102,600, with a $5,000 ratification bonus also promised.

First and third-shift employees would reach top pay rates six years sooner under the new contract, while second-shift employees would do so nine years earlier. Vacation and sick time are increased without raising the cost-share percentage for healthcare plans. Boeing has set a deadline of July 27, 2025, at 23:59 for IAM District 837 to accept the contract. Dan Gillian, Vice President and General Manager of Air Dominance at Boeing, stated: "We believe this contract gives our team financial security, respect and a great future here in the St. Louis area. We encourage them to vote yes."

Negotiations between Boeing and IAM District 937 began on June 20, 2025. The union agreed to strike with 99% voting in favor due to dissatisfaction with the company. A strike could significantly impact Boeing's Defense, Space & Security division which faces challenges such as staffing issues and engineering difficulties on projects like the VC-25B conversion project.

IAM District 837 represents over 3,200 employees primarily working on military aircraft components like F-15s and F/A-18s as well as missiles and drones such as MQ-25 Stingray and T-7A Red Hawk jet trainer.

With the current contract expiring on July 27, both parties are under pressure to reach an agreement before that date or face potential strikes.
