Airbus reaches milestone with first horizontal stabilizer for A350F cargo jet

Airbus has achieved a significant milestone in the development of its A350F cargo aircraft with the production of its first horizontal stabilizer. This component was manufactured in Spain, emphasizing Airbus's multinational European approach. The company plans to begin flight testing for the A350F next year as it assembles its first test aircraft.

In a statement, Airbus confirmed the completion of the manufacturing process for the horizontal stabilizer at its facilities in Cadiz, Spain. "This milestone," according to Airbus, "[demonstrates] Spain's key role in the production of commercial aircraft, including the A350F programme." Ricardo Rojas, President of Airbus’ Commercial Aircraft (Spain), stated: "The A350F will offer a clean-sheet, specifically designed solution for air freight transport, bringing more efficiency and versatility to the cargo market."

Airbus constructs various aircraft components across Europe before assembling them at a centralized Final Assembly Line (FAL). The completed horizontal stabilizer will be transported to Toulouse for attachment to the fuselage of Airbus's first test aircraft. Flight testing is expected to commence in 2026 and continue into 2027 before entering service.
