JetBlue is set to expand its operations in South Florida this winter, as announced on Wednesday. The airline will reintroduce two flights previously cut from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and launch two new routes from the same location. These new routes will connect FLL with Norfolk International Airport (ORF) in Virginia and Tampa International Airport (TPA), both starting December 4.

In addition to these changes, JetBlue plans to increase daily departures from FLL, including more transcontinental flights featuring its premium Mint cabin. The airline's vice president of network planning and airline partnerships, Dave Jehn, emphasized Fort Lauderdale's importance to JetBlue, stating: "Fort Lauderdale has long been a key market for JetBlue, and we're excited to keep growing with the region."

The restored routes include service to Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) beginning November 20 and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) starting December 4. Furthermore, additional daily flights will be available from FLL to several major airports across the East and West Coasts.

JetBlue also highlighted its expanded Mint accommodations on flights between South Florida and the West Coast. This expansion marks a significant growth in JetBlue's presence at Fort Lauderdale after a reduction in departures last winter.

The announcement comes during JetBlue's 25th anniversary year, marking a milestone for the airline that began its operations with Fort Lauderdale as its first destination from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

Travelers looking to book JetBlue flights with points have multiple options through various loyalty programs such as TrueBlue points or by transferring points from Chase Ultimate Rewards or American Express Membership Rewards.

Additionally, United MileagePlus miles can soon be used for booking JetBlue flights due to a new alliance called Blue Sky between United Airlines and JetBlue announced in May.
