An Antonov An-24 aircraft operated by Angara Airlines crashed in southeastern Russia. The plane was on a domestic flight from Blagoveshchensk Airport to Tynda Sigikta Airport when it disappeared and was later found wrecked just 10 miles from its intended destination. Reports suggest that none of the 48 people onboard survived.
The Aviation Herald initially reported 49 occupants, but officials clarified there were 48 after one passenger decided not to travel due to family matters. The crash site is located in a dense forest southwest of Tynda Airport, making access challenging for rescue teams.
Emergency services, including a Mi-8 helicopter from Rosaviatsiya, discovered the burning fuselage at the scene. Amur's regional governor, Vasily Orlov, stated that "all necessary resources" have been deployed for rescue efforts.
