American Airlines has released its financial results for the second quarter of 2025, revealing regional growth and record revenue figures. The airline reported that its regional operations outpaced the mainline services in certain areas. Despite a decrease in overall enplanements from 59.2 million to 58.7 million, the company achieved its highest-ever revenue profit for this period.
CEO Robert Isom commented on the results, stating, "We remain confident that the actions we have taken over the past several years to refresh our fleet, manage costs, and strengthen our balance sheet position us well for the future."
The number of flights increased by 4.7%, with regional flights growing by 10.9% while mainline services remained static. The overall load factor dropped from 86.6% to 84.7%. On the employment front, American Airlines' regional workforce grew by 6.7%, whereas mainline staffing levels decreased slightly.
