Spanish airline Vueling has refuted claims of antisemitism after more than 50 Jewish teenagers and their adult leaders were removed from a flight. The incident occurred on July 23, 2025, before the flight from Valencia to Paris departed.
In a statement, Vueling described the group's behavior as "highly disruptive" and confrontational, asserting that their actions were in line with safety protocols. The group consisted of 47 minors aged between 10 and 15, accompanied by four adults.
The airline reported that during the safety demonstration on flight VY 8166 from Valencia Airport to Paris Orly Airport, the group mishandled emergency equipment and ignored crew instructions. Despite repeated warnings, the disruptive behavior persisted, prompting the cabin crew to seek assistance from Spain's national police force, Guardia Civil. According to Vueling, some members exhibited violent behavior, leading to one arrest. The airline emphasized that religion was not a factor in their decision: "We categorically deny any suggestion that our crew’s decision related to the religion of the passengers involved."
