An Air Canada passenger, Linda Royle, reportedly found someone else's belongings in her carry-on suitcase when it was returned after being lost. According to CBC News, the suitcase contained two toiletry bags, a ticket scanner, and a knife. Additionally, some of Royle's items were missing.

Royle said that Air Canada initially refused compensation but later agreed to review her case. Simple Flying reached out to Air Canada for comment.

The incident occurred during a stopover at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) in March 2025. Royle was traveling from YYZ to Newfoundland and was asked to check her carry-on luggage. Upon arriving at St. John's International Airport (YYT), she discovered both of her suitcases were missing.

When Royle received her hand luggage back, she found random items likely belonging to another passenger. The items included old shaving kits with personal hygiene products and a boarding pass from April 2020. She told CBC News: "It was shocking... You feel violated."

An Apple tracker in Royle's large suitcase showed it remained at YYZ before eventually being returned. Her carry-on was located by Toronto Pearson’s lost and found and forwarded to a pharmacy for contact purposes.

Upon realizing that many of her own belongings were gone, including shoes, books, medication, and clothing worth hundreds of dollars, she contacted Air Canada for compensation but faced refusal due to lack of receipts. However, the airline has agreed to review the case.
