Air France has decided to reduce its planned increase in flights on the Paris-Ottawa route for this winter. Initially, the airline intended to offer daily flights but will now operate four to five weekly services. Last year, Air France operated five weekly flights on this route and had aimed for a daily frequency this winter.

The airline will continue to provide Ottawa's only non-stop connection to Europe during the winter season, as Air Canada's London Heathrow service is only available in the summer. Additionally, Air France has canceled plans to increase flights to Vancouver this winter, maintaining its current schedule of five weekly services.

According to aviation analytics company Cirium, no changes have been made to Air France's November and December 2025 schedule between Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport and Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport. However, from January 2026 onwards, the frequency will decrease from seven to four weekly flights in January and March and from seven to five weekly services in February.

In January through March of this year, Air France operated five weekly connections between Paris and Ottawa. This remains Ottawa International's sole European connection during the winter months since Air Canada plans to resume its four-times-weekly Heathrow service by late March 2026.

Air France launched its Paris-Ottawa route two years ago on June 27, 2023, with five weekly flights using Airbus A330-200 aircraft. It was then the only flight connecting Ottawa with Europe and marked Air France's fifth Canadian destination.

Currently, Air France operates Boeing 777-200ER aircraft on this route. These planes accommodate up to 328 passengers across three cabin classes: business (28 seats), premium economy (32 seats), and economy (268 seats). The fleet underwent a retrofit under the "Optimise 328 Sieges" configuration in mid-2023 but does not include 'La Premiere' first class.

Air France owns a total of 18 Boeing 777-200ERs with an average age exceeding 25 years. These are among the oldest aircraft in their fleet alongside four Airbus A321-100s that are over 30 years old.

Air France celebrates its long-standing history of direct flights to Canada since starting operations in Montreal in 1950. The airline now serves Montreal–Trudeau (YUL), Ottawa (YOW), Quebec City–Jean Lesage (YQB), Toronto–Pearson (YYZ), and Vancouver (YVR). Toronto became a destination in 1976 followed by Vancouver in 2015 and Quebec City in 2022.

Despite earlier intentions for increased frequencies on the Paris-Vancouver route this winter, Air France will maintain five weekly flights instead.
