Etihad Airways is preparing to launch its new Airbus A321LR aircraft, which promises to enhance the narrow-body flying experience. The aircraft features lie-flat pods in both first and business class, and its increased range will allow for new routes and deployment opportunities.

The journey from Hamburg, Germany, where the plane was manufactured at Airbus' headquarters, to Abu Dhabi was marked by a celebratory delivery flight. Etihad invited select media members and employees to join this unique flight experience.

Upon arrival at Airbus' Hamburg facility, passengers underwent a slower-than-usual security process before boarding the aircraft. Once onboard, they were greeted by Turky Alhammadi, Etihad's director of product. The airline customized various aspects of the flight with amenities such as a commemorative tote bag featuring artwork by a local Abu Dhabi artist.

The business-class cabin impressed passengers with its spaciousness and high-tech features like 4K TVs and multiple charging options. Despite some trade-offs like limited storage space and no sliding doors in business class due to weight considerations, the overall product received positive feedback.

During the flight, passengers enjoyed a four-course lunch service featuring signature dishes. As the plane approached Abu Dhabi, anticipation grew for its arrival at the VIP terminal.

After landing on runway 31L in Abu Dhabi, passengers disembarked via air stairs covered in red carpet. They were welcomed by excited Etihad employees and executives inside the VIP terminal.
