Premium economy, a class introduced by EVA Air in 1992, offers a middle ground between economy and business class. While most airlines provide similar onboard experiences for premium economy passengers, lounge access remains a rare perk.

All Nippon Airways (ANA) provides lounge access to premium economy passengers at select airports. "All Nippon Airways offers premium economy passengers free access to its lounges at three airports," the airline states. These include ANA Lounges at Tokyo Narita International Airport, Tokyo Haneda Airport, and Honolulu Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. Additionally, ANA's network allows premium economy passengers access to partner lounges in Southeast Asia and other regions.

Japan Airlines (JAL), ANA's competitor in Japan, also grants lounge access to its premium economy customers. "Japan Airlines offers premium economy on its Airbus A350-1000s, Boeing 777-300ERs, and Boeing 787-9s," with access to Sakura lounges at various locations including Tokyo Narita and Osaka Kansai.

In Europe, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) offers lounge access for SAS Plus passengers traveling within Europe due to their classification as intra-European business class. "SAS Plus passengers are granted access to the carrier's lounges in Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, and Gothenburg."

LATAM is South America's largest airline offering international lounge access for premium economy travelers on Airbus A320 family aircraft. "LATAM grants premium economy passengers access to its lounges in Santiago, Bogotá, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, and Miami."

Overall, while some airlines like LATAM use lounge access as a differentiator from competitors or align it with short-haul business class offerings like SAS Plus does within Europe, the practice remains uncommon globally.
