Emirates has announced a series of new commercial appointments in several key markets across Africa and Asia, effective August 1. The airline said the changes are part of its ongoing programme to develop UAE National talent and broaden leadership experience within its network.
Jaber Mohamed, who is currently Country Manager for Bangladesh, will move to take on the role of Country Manager for Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Talal Al Gergawi, presently serving as Country Manager Zimbabwe, will become Country Manager Bangladesh. Salem Almana, now Regional Manager Pakistan, is set to become Country Manager Ghana. Omar Bushlaibi, who holds the position of Country Manager Zambia, will also assume interim responsibility for Zimbabwe while continuing his current duties in Zambia.
According to Emirates, "The latest rotations are part of Emirates' commercial outstation managers programme, designed to offer UAE Nationals unique opportunities to diversify their leadership skills and deepen their knowledge of local markets within the airline’s network. The programme also helps Emirati managers further expand their networks by engaging with local industry and government stakeholders, fostering new partnerships and strengthening existing relationships."
