Ethiopian Airlines Group has inaugurated a new airport facility in Wollo Kombolcha, located in the north-central region of Ethiopia. The opening ceremony was attended by Arega Kebede, President of the Amhara Regional State, other government officials, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew, and several executives from the airline.

The project involved an investment of more than 12 million Euros. The construction included a passenger terminal building with a total built-up area of 3,500 square meters. Additional facilities were also developed as part of the project, such as an airport rescue and firefighting station, water reservoir, parking areas, and connection roads.

Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group, commented on the occasion: “We are delighted with the completion of our Wollow Kombolcha Airport construction project that will enhance our passengers’ experience at the airport. The inauguration of this new terminal demonstrates our commitment to enhancing both our domestic and international operations at a comparable pace. We believe the enhancement of the airport facility will boost the socioeconomic growth of neighboring cities as well.”
