Emirates has launched a new route to Hangzhou, expanding its operations in mainland China to five cities. Flight EK310 arrived at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport on July 30, greeted by local officials and a ceremonial water cannon salute. Passengers on the inaugural flight received commemorative items such as keychains, certificates, and Chinese tea tasting sets.

The first flight included travelers from various Emirates markets including the UAE, Nigeria, Italy, Spain, Saudi Arabia, and Brazil. A VIP delegation led by Emirates’ senior management and members of the international media were also on board.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, said: “China has become one of the world’s leading aviation markets, and Emirates is proud to have played a role in its development. Adding two new gateways within just one month is a major milestone that underscores our deepening commitment to the Chinese mainland. This expansion also demonstrates the strong momentum our East and Southeast Asia growth strategy has gained over the past year. With rising demand, we're optimistic our global network will continue connecting people, businesses, and economies across Asia and beyond. Emirates remains committed to delivering seamless, reliable connectivity between this dynamic region and the world.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Civil Aviation Administration of China, Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, and all our local partners for their invaluable support in enabling the successful start of this route.”

The service is operated by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Flight EK310 departs Dubai at 0940hrs and arrives in Hangzhou at 2200hrs; return flight EK311 leaves Hangzhou at 0010hrs and lands in Dubai at 0455hrs (local times). The schedule provides connections for passengers from Europe, Africa, the Middle East as well as Brazil and Argentina via Dubai to Hangzhou. There are also onward connections from Hangzhou through Dubai to cities such as Istanbul, Barcelona, Cairo, and Johannesburg.

The aircraft offers up to 16 tonnes of bellyhold cargo capacity per flight for goods like e-commerce products, pharmaceuticals, smart devices and other high-value shipments. Hangzhou serves as an important center for cross-border e-commerce with advanced logistics infrastructure supporting international trade.

Emirates SkyCargo’s network covers six continents via its hub in Dubai. This allows goods from Hangzhou and surrounding areas like the Yangtze River Delta to reach regions including the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and Latin America more quickly.

With this addition Emirates now operates 49 weekly flights serving Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hangzhou. The airline’s complimentary chauffeur-drive service for First and Business Class passengers is now available in Hangzhou within an 80-kilometre radius using Mercedes-Benz E-Class vehicles—a service offered in over 70 cities worldwide including Beijing, Shanghai London Paris Dubai and Milan.

Emirates’ Boeing 777-300ER used on this route features eight First Class suites along with Business Class seats (42) and Economy Class seats (304). Passengers can access more than 6,500 channels of entertainment in over 40 languages—including Chinese—onboard ice system; meals include regional dishes inspired by Chinese cuisine.

Through agreements with China Southern Airlines Air China Sichuan Airlines Emirates extends connectivity beyond its own routes within China.

Beyond air travel services Emirates supports tourism development initiatives in China through partnerships such as last year’s Memorandum of Understanding signed with UAE China Cultural Centre aimed at promoting China globally.

Travelers from GCC countries including those from UAE can visit China visa-free for up to thirty days for business or leisure purposes.
