Alaska Airlines will launch seven new routes connecting California and the Pacific Northwest beginning in late October 2025. The airline is adding three flights from Hollywood Burbank Airport to destinations in Oregon and Washington state. Seasonal service from San Diego to Sun Valley, Idaho, will also be introduced, targeting winter sports travelers. Additionally, Boise will gain a new connection to Ontario in Southern California, and Alaska Airlines will start a Palm Springs-Santa Rosa route.

Kirsten Amrine, Vice President of Revenue Management and Network Planning at Alaska Airlines, stated: “We’re the only global airline based on the West Coast, and we’re proud to offer the most flights and seats between California, Washington and Oregon. These new additions further expand our ability to take our guests between growing markets in California and the Pacific Northwest for leisure and business travel.”

The new Burbank-Eugene flight marks Hollywood Burbank Airport as Eugene’s fifth nonstop destination. The Burbank-Pasco route makes Alaska Airlines the only carrier linking Pasco and the Tri-Cities region with two Los Angeles area airports: Burbank and LAX. In Redmond, Oregon—where Alaska is already the leading carrier—the addition of a direct flight from Burbank increases unique destination options.

The Boise-Ontario route strengthens connections between Idaho’s capital city and Southern California; with this addition, Alaska serves more destinations between Boise and Los Angeles Basin airports than any other airline. The Palm Springs-Santa Rosa service adds an eighth destination from Santa Rosa for Alaska Airlines customers.

A seasonal San Diego-Sun Valley route will connect southern California travelers with Idaho’s ski areas during winter months. With this addition, Alaska Airlines (together with Hawaiian) offers 45 nonstop destinations from San Diego—the highest among all airlines serving that airport.

Spokane-Orange County is another year-round daily service starting in January 2026. This provides eastern Washington residents a direct option to reach Orange County in Southern California—a previously unserved market from Spokane.

All new routes will use Embraer 175 aircraft equipped for short- to mid-range flights. Each plane has 76 seats arranged so that every passenger gets either a window or aisle seat; there are no middle seats. Onboard amenities include entertainment options, Wi-Fi access, and power outlets available in First Class seating.

Tickets for these new services are now available for purchase on Alaska Airlines’ website.
