American Airlines has reportedly received its first Airbus A321XLR, a narrowbody aircraft designed for extra long range flights. Despite taking delivery of the new jet, the airline will not be bringing it to the United States immediately. Instead, the aircraft will stay in Europe.
The reason for this decision is ongoing supply chain problems that have resulted in a shortage of seats for the plane. As a result, American Airlines cannot put the new aircraft into service until these issues are resolved.
