Air Canada will introduce a new route between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Kingston, Ontario, starting September 23. Unlike traditional air service, this connection will be operated by luxury motorcoach in partnership with The Landline Company. The move marks Air Canada's third such ground-based "route," following similar services to Hamilton and the Region of Waterloo.

The new service comes after Air Canada discontinued flights to Kingston in June 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since early 2023, Kingston Norman Rogers Airport has had no scheduled commercial airline service after Pascan Aviation ended its Montreal connection.

The Landline-operated coaches are manufactured by Canadian company Prevost and feature 36 reclining leather seats arranged in a two-by-one configuration. Amenities include table trays, power outlets, WiFi access, an onboard lavatory, and accessibility features such as a power lift for passengers with disabilities.

Ranbir Singh, Director of Regional Airlines and Markets at Air Canada, said, "We are delighted to be reconnecting customers in Kingston and the surrounding region to our global network. This is a premier example of the new opportunities our growing partnership with The Landline Company unlocks."

Passengers using the coach service will follow standard check-in procedures and receive boarding passes for all segments of their journey. However, checked bags must be re-tagged at self-service kiosks upon arrival at Toronto Pearson before continuing on connecting flights. Aeroplan members will earn points as they would on regular flights.

The schedule includes two daily roundtrips timed to connect with Air Canada's broader network from Toronto Pearson. The morning coach departs Kingston at 04:00 for a 06:50 arrival in Toronto; an afternoon departure leaves Kingston at 14:00 and arrives in Toronto at 17:30. Return trips from Toronto depart at 08:10 and 19:10.

Travelers originating in Kingston can use the coach segment without paying extra compared to starting their journey from Toronto Pearson until December 31, 2025. Customers can also add this segment to existing bookings through the Air Canada Contact Centre without an added fee during this period.

Landline operates similar bus connections for other major airlines including American Airlines and United Airlines in the United States.

Air Canada is Canada's largest full-service carrier and is part of Star Alliance. Its main hubs include Montréal–Trudeau International Airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport, and Vancouver International Airport.
