Lavinia Lau Chief Customer and Commercial Officer | Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific has resumed its non-stop flights between Hong Kong and Brussels, marking the airline's return to the Belgian capital as of August 3. The service operates four times a week, reestablishing a direct connection between Hong Kong and Brussels.

The reinstated route is part of Cathay Pacific’s broader expansion in Europe for the summer peak season. The airline is now operating close to 100 return flights weekly between Hong Kong and various European destinations. This includes five daily flights to London, daily services to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Manchester, Milan, Paris, and Zurich, as well as several weekly flights to cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Munich, Rome, and Brussels.

Lavinia Lau, Chief Customer and Commercial Officer at Cathay Pacific, commented: “We are very pleased to be back in Brussels, directly connecting our home hub with one of Europe’s major political centres and a tourism destination that’s steeped in history and culture. Our new service offers excellent flight timings in both directions, enabling customers to wake up refreshed with a full day ahead whether they are arriving in Brussels or Hong Kong.

“Cathay has a long history in Europe stretching back more than four decades. This year alone, we have launched services to three new destinations in Europe with new flights to Rome and Munich having already taken off in June. With increased frequencies to other popular European cities this summer as well, we’re making it even easier for customers to travel between Asia and Europe.”

The Hong Kong-Brussels route is operated by the Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The plane features fully flat beds in Business Class, enhanced seating options in Premium Economy, and improved comfort for Economy passengers. All travelers have access to inflight entertainment recognized by Skytrax as the world’s best for 2025 (https://www.worldairlineawards.com/worlds-best-inflight-entertainment-2025/), along with high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity. Business Class passengers and Cathay Diamond members receive complimentary Wi-Fi during their journey.

Flight CX291 departs from Hong Kong at 23:50 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays and arrives in Brussels at 07:20 the following day. Return flight CX294 leaves Brussels at 13:25 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays with arrival in Hong Kong at 06:55 the next day.

Travelers flying from Europe through Hong Kong International Airport can take advantage of onward connections offered by Cathay Pacific together with HK Express. These airlines serve over 100 global destinations—including 23 within mainland China—and provide intermodal links via SkyPier Terminal for access across the Greater Bay Area.

Additionally, Cathay Pacific’s passenger flights support cargo operations by offering bellyhold capacity alongside seven dedicated freighter services per week between Europe and Asia.
