ITA Airways has announced on the social media platform X that it is extending the suspension of flights to and from Tel Aviv through September 30, including flights AZ809 and AZ815 on October 1. Passengers affected by this decision have the option to rebook or request a refund.

According to the official ITA Airways website, the airline's decision to extend the suspension of all flights between Italy and Tel Aviv is due to ongoing regional security concerns and operational challenges. ITA Airways initially suspended its Tel Aviv service in response to rising tensions in the area and has continuously updated its advisories based on changing risk assessments. The airline advises passengers to consult the Flight Info section of its website for the most current updates before heading to the airport.

As reported by Reuters, ITA Airways is among several international airlines that have continued suspending or rerouting flights to Tel Aviv amid persistent instability and security threats in the Middle East. The article notes that carriers frequently adjust schedules and service resumptions based on updated safety assessments from aviation authorities and government agencies. The extended suspension by ITA Airways aligns with a broader trend among European and global carriers prioritizing passenger safety during this volatile period.

According to official customer guidelines published by ITA Airways, travelers affected by the suspension are eligible for ticket rebooking for a later date or a full refund if they choose not to travel. The airline’s disruption policy provides step-by-step instructions on processing rebookings and refunds through its website or customer service channels. ITA Airways emphasizes its commitment to customer service and minimizing inconvenience, urging all affected passengers to review detailed procedures before making further plans.

According to ITA Airways' corporate profile, the airline is Italy’s national flag carrier, founded in October 2021 as Alitalia's successor, with headquarters in Rome. ITA Airways operates an extensive network of domestic and international routes, serving major cities in Europe, the Americas, and beyond. As a member of the SkyTeam alliance, it emphasizes safety, reliability, digital innovation, fleet modernization, and enhanced customer experience initiatives.
