In 2021, Amazon pledged to hire 100,000 U.S. veterans and military spouses across various business units, including operations, robotics, human resources, and logistics, by 2026. They exceeded that goal ahead of schedule, reaching it in January of 2024. Additionally, Amazon offers structured support through mentorships, veteran-focused promotion pathways, and employee-led groups such as Warriors at Amazon that assist in integrating military experience into corporate careers.

Amazon stands as one of the world’s largest private employers with more than 1.5 million employees across over 20 countries as of 2024. The company operates in several sectors including e-commerce; cloud computing via Amazon Web Services (AWS); logistics and transportation; media and entertainment; and artificial intelligence. It continues investing in workforce development, renewable energy initiatives, infrastructure projects while also engaging communities through local partnerships and global philanthropic efforts.
