Bombardier has announced a significant expansion of its aftermarket support network in the United States. The company, which is among the world’s largest private jet manufacturers, plans to enhance several existing facilities and open new service locations across the country. Details on the exact sites for these new facilities have not yet been released.

The initiative comes as Bombardier seeks to address increasing demand from its growing fleet of US-based jets. Over half of the 5,100 Bombardier executive jets currently in service are located in the United States, making it a key market for the Montreal-based manufacturer. As Bombardier's Global and Challenger series continue to see strong sales, providing robust aftermarket support remains essential.

Aftermarket services represent an important revenue stream for Bombardier. According to Reuters, the company’s service division generated more than $1 billion in revenue recently, with a target to reach $2 billion by year-end. Morningstar reported that Bombardier's service revenue grew by over 18% in 2024, surpassing $2 billion overall.

Paul Sislian, Executive Vice President of Aftermarket Services and Strategy at Bombardier, said: "Today’s announcement demonstrates our full commitment to provide exceptional care and seamless convenience, so that our customers can fly with total confidence. While our team is already delivering on this promise — with our best-in-class services earning the #1 ranking in the AIN Product Support survey for a second consecutive year, as well as in the 2025 Professional Pilot Corporate Aircraft Product Support Survey — this expansion initiative demonstrates the depth of our commitment to offer the ultimate customer experience.”

The expansion is expected to create jobs and foster skill development across multiple communities in the US. Bombardier will prioritize hiring Airframe and Powerplant technicians along with other skilled workers while expanding apprenticeship and talent programs nationwide.

This move also takes place amid ongoing trade tensions between Canada and the United States. Recently implemented tariffs by President Donald Trump do not affect Bombardier jets due to an exemption signed during his first term.

In terms of products, Bombardier offers two main aircraft families: Challenger (with models such as Challenger 3500 and Challenger 650) and Global (including Global 5500/6500/7500/8000). The company faces competition from Embraer’s Praetor series, Dassault Falcon jets, Gulfstream G280 for its Challenger line; while Gulfstream GVII/GVI families compete with its Global series.

Bombardier was founded on July 10, 1942. Éric Martel serves as CEO.
