Delta Air Lines will introduce Embraer jets on its routes to Aspen, Colorado, starting in November. The change will affect flights operated by SkyWest as Delta Connection from Atlanta and Los Angeles to Aspen. The new aircraft will replace the CRJ-700 models previously used on these routes.
Amy Martin, Vice President – Network Planning at Delta, said, “Aspen is one of the most iconic ski destinations in the world, and we’re making sure your travel experience matches the magic of the mountains. This aircraft change isn’t just about a new look, it’s about solving real challenges for our customers and enhancing every leg of the journey.”
The Embraer jets feature larger cargo holds designed to better accommodate ski equipment and other winter gear. This is expected to reduce bulk-out issues that can occur with baggage handling at high-demand airports such as Aspen. Passengers can also expect improved baggage capacity and smoother handling.
