Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has announced the expansion of its FedEx International Connect Plus (FICP) service to the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa (MEISA) region. This move aims to provide Filipino businesses with improved access to international markets through faster and more cost-effective e-commerce shipping.
Recent trade figures show that in March 2025, exports from the Philippines to the United Arab Emirates reached $34.3 million, marking a 2.51% increase compared to the previous year. At the same time, India’s exports to the Philippines totaled $177 million, which is a 9.39% rise year on year.
Maribeth Espinosa, managing director of FedEx Philippines, stated: “As Filipino businesses explore more trade with more markets like the UAE and Saudi Arabia, there’s a growing need for shipping solutions that are both affordable and reliable. By expanding FedEx International Connect Plus to the MEISA region, we’re helping e-tailers and small to medium enterprises (SMEs) deliver their products faster and easier, and with the confidence to thrive in the global market.”
