Korean Air has revised its winter schedule for flights between Seoul and the United States, reversing earlier plans to use the Boeing 747-8 on both daily services to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Instead, the airline will continue operating one daily flight with an Airbus A380 and another with a Boeing 777-300ER, according to data from aviation analytics company Cirium.
The change also affects Korean Air’s Los Angeles route. The carrier will reduce its Airbus A380 service from 14 to seven weekly flights starting in November 2025. The extra A380 capacity will be shifted to New York JFK, where it will replace the previously planned 747-8i operations.
Previously, Korean Air had scheduled both of its daily Incheon International Airport (ICN) to JFK flights with the Boeing 747-8 for this winter season. With this adjustment, the airline maintains its current summer arrangement: one daily A380 flight departing ICN at 10:00 and arriving at JFK at 11:10 (KE81), and a second daily service using a Boeing 777-300ER departing ICN at 19:30 and arriving at JFK at 21:00 (KE85). Return flights from JFK follow similar patterns.
