Boliviana de Aviacion adds seasonal flights from Bolivia to Washington Dulles

Boliviana de Aviacion, Bolivia's state-owned airline, will introduce a new route connecting Santa Cruz’s Viru Viru International Airport to Washington Dulles International Airport with a stop in Panama City. The service is set to begin on November 4 and will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays until February 24. It will then resume from June 1 through August 31, 2026.

The flights will use Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Travelers can book the full journey between Washington and Santa Cruz, but not for travel solely between Washington and Panama City. The distance between Santa Cruz and Washington exceeds the standard range of the Boeing 737-800, but each segment of the route falls within the aircraft’s capabilities.

Washington has the largest Bolivian population in the United States, according to Brian D'Amico, director of airline business development at the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. "Washington is home to the largest Bolivian population in the U.S.," D'Amico said.
