Lufthansa is set to receive its first Boeing 787 equipped with the new Allegris business class in September 2025. The airline has experienced delays in receiving these aircraft due to pending certification from the US aviation regulator for its new cabin seating.

When the Dreamliner enters service, a significant number of seats in the business class section will not be available to passengers. This limitation is directly related to the ongoing certification process for the new Allegris seats.

The introduction of the Allegris product marks a notable change in Lufthansa’s premium cabin offering, but regulatory hurdles have impacted both delivery timelines and initial seat availability.
