Google Flights has introduced a new feature that allows users to filter out basic economy fares from search results. This update addresses a longstanding request from travelers who have found it difficult to distinguish between restrictive basic economy tickets and standard coach fares when comparing flight prices.
The ability to exclude basic economy options is now being rolled out under the seating class selector on Google Flights. According to Google, this feature will be available to all users in the coming weeks.
Basic economy tickets often come with significant restrictions. For example, Delta Air Lines does not allow SkyMiles earning or Sky Club access on these fares, while United Airlines restricts full-size carry-on bags for basic economy passengers. Previously, it was challenging for users to know whether a listed price included such limitations when searching through Google Flights.
