A Frontier Airlines pilot based at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is under investigation after allegedly making a false bomb threat against one of the airline's flights in May. Police believe the incident was intended to target a former Frontier employee with whom the pilot had a personal relationship.
The incident took place around 3 p.m. on May 8 at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, just before a Frontier flight to Cincinnati was scheduled to depart. According to reports from the Cincinnati Enquirer, Captain Kevin Shelton told police he received a call from Frontier’s corporate headquarters stating that passenger Molly Burnam “may be planning a bomb attack” on the plane.
Burnam, then working as a Frontier flight attendant, was removed from the aircraft and questioned by authorities but was cleared after investigators found no credible threat. The report to police was later traced back to Andrew Brenneman, who joined Frontier as a first officer in 2023.
