On August 1, Etihad Airways launched its first scheduled Airbus A321LR service on the route between Abu Dhabi and Phuket. The airline’s initial aircraft for this model, registered as A6-LRA, arrived in Abu Dhabi from Hamburg Finkenweder on July 25.
The introduction of the Airbus A321LR marks a new phase for Etihad Airways as it seeks to expand its medium-haul network. The A321LR is designed for longer routes within the single-aisle segment and allows airlines to serve destinations that were previously only accessible with larger widebody jets.
"Etihad's new Airbus A321LR began scheduled service from Abu Dhabi to Phuket on August 1," an airline spokesperson said.
