American Airlines has set a new record for its longest regional jet (RJ) route, with American Eagle launching service between Dallas/Fort Worth and Québec City. The first flight on this route began on August 9, 2025, and is operated by Envoy Air using Embraer E175 aircraft. This Saturday-only service now stands as the carrier’s longest RJ route by distance.
According to data from ch-aviation, American Eagle currently operates 582 regional jets across its network. These include 224 E175s, 129 CRJ700s, 91 ERJ145s, 86 CRJ900s, and 52 E170s. The aircraft are flown by partner airlines Envoy Air, PSA Airlines, Piedmont Airlines, Republic Airways, and SkyWest Airlines.
Analysis of Cirium Diio data shows that in August alone there are more than 2,900 RJ movements scheduled for American Eagle. Nearly half of all American Airlines flights during this period use regional jets. Over the course of the month, these aircraft will serve more than 240 airports across over 670 routes.
