In August 2025, ten airports in the United States are hosting regular Airbus A380 flights, according to data from Cirium Diio. The number of daily superjumbo departures ranges from 23 to 26, with the variation influenced by Qantas resuming its A380 service to Dallas/Fort Worth on August 11 after more than five years.

Dallas/Fort Worth had been without A380 service since March 10, when British Airways temporarily stopped operations at the airport. Qantas’ return marks a renewed presence for the aircraft at this Texas hub.

Denver International Airport also stands out this year. On April 30, Lufthansa began scheduled A380 flights from Munich to Denver, replacing its previous use of the A350-900 on the route. This switch increased available seats per flight by 74% and reintroduced first class cabins as well as additional business class seating. The proportion of economy seats per departure dropped slightly.

The following US airports have regular A380 departures in August: Los Angeles (197), New York JFK (183), Washington Dulles (93), Boston (62), Honolulu (62), San Francisco (62), Denver (31), Houston Intercontinental (31), Miami (31), and Dallas/Fort Worth (12). Airlines operating these flights include Asiana, British Airways, Emirates, Korean Air, Lufthansa, Qantas, and All Nippon Airways.

Cirium’s analysis indicates that August 2025 ties for the second-highest number of US airports with scheduled A380 service since such flights began in August 2008. That year saw Emirates launch A380 operations at New York JFK. In comparison, August 2019 had even more US airports served by the aircraft; Atlanta and Chicago O’Hare previously received Air France and British Airways A380s respectively.

During peak dates in August 2025—specifically on eight days including August 4 and August 13—up to 26 daily superjumbo departures are scheduled across these ten airports. This is an increase from last year but still below the record high of up to 37 daily departures seen in August 2019 when other carriers like Air France, China Southern, Etihad Airways, and Singapore Airlines were active on US routes with their own A380 fleets. Etihad’s last US-bound A380 flight was in June 2025.

On August 13 specifically:

- Emirates maintains seven daily departures.

- British Airways has five flights.

- Lufthansa increases to five with new Denver service.

- Asiana offers three flights.

- All Nippon and Korean Air each operate two.

- Qantas also has two departures after reintroducing Dallas/Fort Worth service.

The Airbus A380 is a widebody aircraft manufactured by Airbus and was first delivered on October 15, 2007 to launch customer Singapore Airlines.
