Qatar Airways has announced plans to open its first U.S. airport lounge at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The Doha-based airline will relocate its operations to the new Terminal One at JFK when it opens next year.
The new lounge will cover 15,000 square feet and will feature direct boarding, premium dining, relaxation rooms, and children's play areas. While specific design details have not been released, Qatar Airways stated that the lounge is intended primarily for passengers on its multiple daily flights to Doha. However, business- and first-class travelers flying other Oneworld airlines from Terminal One will also have access.
It remains unclear how many other Oneworld carriers will join Qatar Airways in Terminal One. Most Oneworld airlines at JFK currently operate out of Terminal 8 alongside American Airlines. Royal Air Maroc is set to move to Terminal One upon its opening, while Alaska Airlines is transitioning to Terminal 8.
