Spirit Airlines has launched six new routes, expanding its network with flights between Detroit and Orange County, Miami and Atlantic City, Newark and Savannah, Hartford and Nashville, Minneapolis and Myrtle Beach, and Reno and San Diego. These additions exclude seasonal resumptions or previously short-term routes. Notably, this is Spirit's first time serving Savannah. The only route without direct competition in August is Miami-Atlantic City, which had not been served for three years.

AirAsia began operating a new fifth-freedom service between Taipei Taoyuan and Fukuoka on August 15. This daily service uses an A320ceo/A320neo aircraft operated by AirAsia’s Malaysian unit. Flights start and end in Kota Kinabalu, marking the first connection between Borneo’s largest city and Fukuoka via one-stop service. AirAsia joins four other passenger airlines on the Taipei-Fukuoka route: China Airlines, EVA Air, STARLUX, and Tigerair Taiwan.

Aurigny launched a limited-time route from Guernsey to Bastia in Corsica on August 16. Scheduled as Saturday flights until September 27 using an ATR 72 aircraft, the inaugural flight used a leased E190 jet from Titan due to operational needs.

South Korea’s T’Way Air started service from Jeju to Singapore on August 15 with five weekly flights using a Boeing 737 MAX 8; this will increase to daily service in September. The Jeju-Singapore flight becomes Jeju’s longest route at over 4,200 kilometers each way. T’Way also operates nine weekly flights from Seoul Incheon to Singapore Changi Airport.

Caribbean Airlines replaced Silver Airways as the sole carrier on the San Juan-Dominica route starting August 16 with three weekly ATR 72 flights. Silver Airways ceased operations on this route in March 2025. Caribbean Airlines offers a one-stop connection via Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago.

Pegasus Airlines added three new routes during the week: Antalya-Elazig (resuming after being last served in 2021), Antalya-Samsun (new), both domestic Turkish routes operating twice weekly; and an international link from Çukurova (Mersin) to Beirut starting August 16 with three weekly flights. Pegasus competes directly with AJet on the Çukurova-Beirut sector.
