Lufthansa marked its 60th anniversary of flight operations to Singapore, highlighting a long-standing connection between Germany and the city-state. The airline first began service to Singapore in 1965, coinciding with Singapore’s own 60th year of independence in 2025.

Throughout these six decades, Lufthansa has contributed to Singapore’s position as an important global aviation hub. The airline operates modern aircraft and offers direct connections from Singapore to key European destinations. In addition to daily flights, Lufthansa maintains a joint venture with Singapore Airlines, strengthening ties between the two carriers.

Brendan Shashoua, Lufthansa Group Senior Director Sales – Southeast Asia and the Pacific, stated: “As an important gateway to the region, Singapore is integral to our Southeast Asia strategy. Coincidentally, as Singapore celebrates 60 years of independence, we also celebrate 60 years of flights to the Lion City. With an investment that goes back six decades, we now operate 20 weekly flights, connecting Singapore each day to our hubs in Frankfurt, Munich & Zurich.”
