The world’s longest Airbus A380 flights this September operated by Emirates and Qantas

Emirates also operates three other A380 routes exceeding 8,000 miles from Dubai to destinations in the United States. These include daily flights to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), which is 8,334 miles (13,412 km) away; San Francisco International Airport (SFO), at 8,101 miles (13,037 km); and Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), covering 8,165 miles (13,140 km). The seating layout features space for first class guests as well as business class and economy passengers.

Qantas is the only other carrier flying an Airbus A380 route longer than 8,000 miles this September. Its Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD) to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) service covers 8,569 miles (13,790 km) and operates four times weekly—on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Qantas configures its A380s with a total of 485 seats: 14 in first class, 70 in business class, 60 in premium economy and 341 in economy.

Passengers traveling from Sydney to Dallas on Qantas flight QF7 can expect a journey time of about fifteen hours and twenty minutes. The return leg from Dallas departs after ten hours on the ground and has a scheduled block time of over seventeen hours.

The Airbus A380 was first delivered in October 2007 with Singapore Airlines as its launch customer. The final delivery took place in December 2021 after a total of 251 units were produced.
